Aims and Scope

Open Environmental Sciences is an open access online journal which publishes research articles, reviews, letters and guest edited thematic issues in all areas of environmental studies and environmental sciences, including environmental planning and management, environmental and biological monitoring, environmental pollution and toxicology, environmental education and policy analysis.


Open Environmental Sciences, a peer-reviewed journal, is an important and reliable source of current information on developments in the field. The emphasis will be on publishing quality papers rapidly and freely available to researchers worldwide.

Brief Biography

Miklas Scholz, cand ing, BEng (equiv), PgC, MSc, PhD, CWEM, CEnv, CSci, CEng, FHEA, FIEMA, FCIWEM, FICE, Fellow of IWA, is a Professor in Water Resources Engineering at Lund University, Sweden. He also holds the Chair in Civil Engineering at The University of Salford, UK, as well as the position of Head of the Civil Engineering Research Group in Salford. His main research areas in terms of publication output are as follow: treatment wetlands, integrated constructed wetlands (ICW), sustainable flood retention basins (SFRB), permeable pavement systems, decision support systems, ponds and capillary suction time. He has published 3 books and 209 journal articles.
